Onur Çanka is a sculptor who lives in Çeşme, transforms trees that would otherwise be cut down on the road into works of art. He also brings old sailing fishing boats of the Aegean back to life. After studying sculpture at Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Çanka continued to produce special projects with different materials in his workshop in Balat. He received wood training at the Sculpture Department of Marmara Fine Arts Faculty in 2008. He mostly works with wood and trees, but he also uses other materials in his sculptures. The expressions he puts on his sculptures are a little bit out of the concrete part of the work and are more in the way he produces and imagines in his own mind.
