Arici was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1980. She studied Sculpture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. Arici currently continues her practice in her workshop in the city. In her artwork, compositions are created by utilising the dramatic structure of the figure. In terms of material selection, Candan Arici uses bronze and glass to give life to her sculptures. She also incorporates into her three-dimensional works metaphorical expressions of the geography in which she has lived. Through her creations, Arici questions the expression of her inner emotions with her practice.
