Born in Tehran in 1982, when Iran was a war-torn country, Arezo Khosroshahi’s early years were marked by the challenges and hardships of the ongoing conflict. In search of a better future, her family made the courageous decision to emigrate, seeking stability and a better life abroad.
In 1990, at the age of eight, Arezo and her family found themselves in Toronto, Canada. It was here that she discovered her innate talent and passion for painting, a creative outlet that provided solace and allowed her to express herself amidst the unfamiliarity of a new environment. In this oftentimes lonely environment, her art became her voice.
Determined to pursue her artistic aspirations, Arezo Khosroshahi dedicated herself to her craft, honing her skills and pushing the boundaries of her artistic abilities. In 2007, she proudly graduated from York University in Toronto, having completed her studies in Fine Arts Visual Arts.
The experiences of growing up in Iran during a time of conflict, coupled with the subsequent immigration to Canada, have significantly influenced Arezo’s artistic perspective. She channels her unique cultural background and the struggles she witnessed into her art, creating powerful and thought-provoking pieces that reflect her personal journey and the resilience of the human spirit.
Today, based in Istanbul and Toronto, Arezo Khosroshahi continues to create captivating artworks that transcend borders and resonate with audiences worldwide. Her work serves as a testament to the transformative power of art and the ability to find beauty and inspiration even in the face of adversity.
