"If we could see our souls amidst all the suppressed emotions, what would we encounter?" The artist draws inspiration for her works from internal movements, based on this question. She addresses the hidden and unexpressed suppressed emotions that silently destroy us from within. However, these emotions also shape who we are. Öztürk transmits all these emotional components to the audience through her works. The artist argues that life is not easy, and even difficult, for women in the place where she was born and raised. She emphasizes that these hardworking women, while wearing down their bodies, also wear down their souls. Although the lips of these women may be sealed, their unhappiness can be read from their eyes. Thus, her works depict women with locked lips who speak through their eyes.
In the artist's own words: "Our eyes reflect our souls, lips speak, but not always with complete sincerity. Because they hold within them emotions that are compressed, controllable. Therefore, when my works encounter the viewer, they can establish a communication, an exchange of emotions through their eyes. Listen to my eyes..."
