Kemal Ertuğ

"Crack Is Not Wack" An interpretation based on the personal story of the artist to Keith Haring's "Crack Is Wack" painting.
"Leap of Faith" This work, created by combining the artist's initial canvases, is a critique of the good and bad side that exists within a person. Although everything may seem difficult and dark, the painting explores the idea that a person can overcome even the most devilish and challenging emotions when they set their mind to it.
"A Summer Memory" This painting is the first piece in a series created by the artist in recent times and was specially made for this project. The artist aims to create a minimalistic image with simple lines while also expecting the viewer to oscillate between chaos and tranquility through the scribbles made.

Kemal Ertuğ

Kemal Ertuğ started painting at the age of 1.5 and held his first solo art exhibition in İzmir at the age of 7. Continuing to paint as a hobby, the artist entered Sabancı University School of Management in 2016 but wasn't satisfied and later transferred to the Faculty of Visual Arts at the same university. During this period, Ertuğ developed a close interest in both photography and fashion. At the age of 20, he started writing articles for GQ magazine, and being in this artistic environment made painting his sole focus. Since 2020, the artist has been working on canvas and has pieces from three different periods.
