Kazım Karakaya

Kazım Karakaya was born in Ankara in 1971 and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. Between 1993 and 2003, he worked with sculptor Mehmet Aksoy. He held his first solo exhibition at İş Bankası Parmakkapı Art Gallery in 2004 and participated in numerous group exhibitions and symposiums both domestically and internationally. Kazım Karakaya, who seeks the possibilities of materials with reference to organic joints in his sculptures and examines the relationships between material and form, aims to return to the essence of the material to allow plural interpretations.
