Alea Pınar Du Pre

Pınar Alea Du Pre is a painter concerned with the fundamental nature of realism. According to the artist, this reality is not the reality as we know it. The understanding of quantum mechanics and M-theory reveals an undivided universe where all parts intermingle and merge into a wholeness. The essential nature of physical reality is not a collection or sum of different objects, but an undivided whole in constant dynamic flux, despite appearances.
Inspired by these findings, Pınar Alea Du Pre creates artistic analogies between the "inner world" and the "outer world." Du Pre's paintings demonstrate that the tangible reality of our daily lives, like everything else in the world, is deceptively virtual. Scientific discoveries show that our brains continuously mold the "outer world" like plastic and present it to us as "reality." Pınar Alea Du Pre's technique also reflects this illusion.
The scenes constructed by the artist, based on the synthetic nature of digital art, present familiar but detached frames from reality. They challenge our assumptions about the existing reality and serve as windows to explore alternative human possibilities. Du Pre is fascinated by what science reveals about the nature of reality and the challenges it poses to our consciousness and perceptions. She is also a fan of science fiction, using it as a thought experiment to challenge the daily assumptions about our current reality. What repeatedly draws her to metaphorical subjects is the fundamental beauty she can perceive in others despite the layers of sensory illusion that define our perceptions.
